Diesel Mechanic / Service Technician
Training and Employment Program for Veterans
in Collaboration with United Rentals
Training Begins: July 18th, 2022
Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS) and United Rentals are looking to train AND hire motivated Veterans that have an interest in a fulfilling career as a Diesel Mechanic / Service Technician.
Program Information:
- Start Date: July 18th, 2022
- Training Location: Atlanta, GA
- Travel / Lodging: WOS will reimburse travel expenses and pay for lodging for participants traveling from outside the training area.
- Duration: 9 Weeks (5 weeks classroom / 4 weeks OJT)
- Cost: FREE (WOS will provide a $625.00 weekly stipend during training to each participant)
- Placement: Successful Candidates will be placed as a Level I or Level II Tech within United Rentals.
- Placement locations will be determined by candidate preference AND United Rentals needs.
Responsibilities:
- Include the maintenance and repair of the following systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools:
- Diesel
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Hydraulic
Basic Requirements:
- Military service past 9/11/2001 (Reserve and Guard included)
- Honorable Discharge
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical background/aptitude
- Must have a current/valid Driver's License
- Must be willing to relocate
Salary:
- $20.00 - $22.00 per hour (Starting salaries based on location and mechanical experience):
- $20 per hour for Tech I
- $22 per hour for Tech II
- Those selected for training will receive a $625/Week stipend (paid bi-weekly)
