Diesel  Mechanic / Service Technician
Training and Employment Program for Veterans
in Collaboration with United Rentals


Training Begins:  July 18th, 2022


Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS) and United Rentals are looking to train AND hire motivated Veterans that have an interest in a fulfilling career as a Diesel Mechanic / Service Technician.


Program Information:

  • Start Date: July 18th, 2022
  • Training Location: Atlanta, GA
  • Travel / Lodging: WOS will reimburse travel expenses and pay for lodging for participants traveling from outside the training area.
  • Duration: 9 Weeks (5 weeks classroom / 4 weeks OJT)
  • Cost: FREE (WOS will provide a $625.00 weekly stipend during training to each participant)
  • Placement: Successful Candidates will be placed as a Level I or Level II Tech within United Rentals. 
    • Placement locations will be determined by candidate preference AND United Rentals needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Include the maintenance and repair of the following systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools:
    • Diesel
    • Mechanical
    • Electrical
    • Hydraulic

Basic Requirements:

  • Military service past 9/11/2001 (Reserve and Guard included)
  • Honorable Discharge
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical background/aptitude
  • Must have a current/valid Driver's License
  • Must be willing to relocate

Salary:

  • $20.00 - $22.00 per hour (Starting salaries based on location and mechanical experience):
    • $20 per hour for Tech I
    • $22 per hour for Tech II
  • Those selected for training will receive a $625/Week stipend (paid bi-weekly)
