Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled PowerBI Developer to design, develop, and implement interactive and visually appealing PowerBI dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, optimize reports for performance, manage the PowerBI service, and ensure high availability and reliability of the PowerBI environment. This role involves integrating data from multiple sources, developing and managing ETL processes, and staying updated with the latest PowerBI features and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement interactive and visually appealing PowerBI dashboards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective dashboard solutions.
  • Develop and maintain paginated reports using PowerBI Report Builder.
  • Optimize reports for performance and ensure they meet user requirements.
  • Manage and administer PowerBI service, including workspace management, data gateway configuration, and user access control.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of the PowerBI environment.
  • Implement best practices for security, data governance, and compliance within PowerBI.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, Excel files, and other cloud-based data sources.
  • Develop and manage ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Create and manage PowerBI Dataflows to centralize and standardize data for use across multiple reports and dashboards.
  • Optimize Dataflows for performance and scalability.
  • Stay updated with the latest PowerBI features, updates, and best practices.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to existing PowerBI solutions to improve usability and functionality.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Migrate existing Cognos reports to PowerBI

Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing PowerBI dashboards and paginated reports.
  • Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query.
  • Experience with PowerBI administration, including workspace management and security settings.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with integrating data from various sources.
  • Experience with Cognos BI reporting.
  • Experience with creating and managing PowerBI Dataflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
