Position Description:

Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS)—the leading non-profit organization connecting individuals from under-serviced communities is looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer to join the Data Team under the Advanced Metering Infrastructure organization at Eversource. This individual will become responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data pipelines and infrastructure that support the department’s data analytics and data science initiatives. The successful candidate should have working knowledge of data engineering, comfort working with large and complex datasets is desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines to ingest, process, and store data from various sources.
  • Develop tools and process to retrieve data from Azure Data Lake
  • Support and develop architecture for automated train-test-deploy on cloud
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance and efficiency.
  • Work with data governance and security teams to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and/or experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as R, Python, or a similar language.
  • An understanding of data pipeline and data integration tools (e.g., Apache Beam, Apache Spark, Apache Flink). Hands-on experience a plus
  • Familiar with SQL and database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift).
  • Familiar with data storage and processing technologies (e.g., Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Impala, Parquet).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of data management best practices.
  • Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Excel, Access, ORACLE, and SAS).
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages (e.g., SQL, R, and Python).

  • Full Time

Salary:

  • Full-Time: $30.00/Hour (plus benefits)

Location:

  • Westwood, MA (Hybrid)
    • Two days On-Site
    • Three days of remote
