Job Description:

As a line technician, you are responsible for conducting routine maintenance checks to ensure the operational efficiency of machines and equipment production. You will monitor the control processes, running diagnostic tests with products and equipment, and create a comprehensive report for resolution methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspects facility equipment daily performing various production startup and coverage tasks.
  • Maintains various plant machines by performing troubleshooting and general maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots any repair-electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components.
  • Uses prints, specifications, follows verbal instructions to make repairs to ordinary plumbing and electrical systems. Installs and threads pipe, performs soldering and cutting.
  • Assists in the installation of equipment.
  • Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Follow all Safe Quality Food (SQF) principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner.
  • Report all food safety and human safety concerns to appropriate personnel such as QA technician, Safety Manager, Food and Safety Quality (FSQ) Manager, etc.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic electrical/mechanical knowledge required. Must be familiar with electrical schematics.
  • Successful completion of a line technician assessment.
  • Understanding and completion of basic lock-out, tag-out procedures. Lock colors, and understanding of the lock-out/tag-out signage, knowledge of when to utilize 2 points of control vs-controlled access vs zero energy.
  • Requires judgment to make decisions regarding sequence of maintenance operations to be performed within the limits of standard practice.
  • Ability to work in somewhat disagreeable conditions, dust, noise, fumes and vibrations.
  • Ability to work overtime as require.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
