About The Opportunity

Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS)—the leading non-profit organization connecting individuals from under-serviced communities is seeking a Clifton NJ based security operations professional to join our Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) team. This is a fundamental role in protecting and enhancing the firm’s security posture, and ensuring the security and  safety of our information assets, staff, visitors and facilities globally. Candidates must be highly responsible and motivated, exemplify attention to detail, demonstrate the ability to fluidly prioritize and multi-task, work both independently and as a member of a team with solid time management skills. 

Responsibilities:

The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator is responsible for performing identity and access management (“IAM”) administration and monitoring, information and physical security monitoring and ensuring that the GSOC maintains successful 24/7 operations through the timely execution of all assigned duties, truly a critical “front line of defense” for the organization. This role will require occasional night shift and weekend shift rotations.

GSOC Operators serve as initial points of contact, escalation, and subject matter experts for all three core functions:

  • Identity and Access Management
    • Ownership and support of all phases of the account and identity lifecycle;
    • Administration of accounts, privileges and memberships within Active Directory;
    • Open collaboration with (and support of) stakeholders and associated projects and workflows;
    • Administration, troubleshooting and maintenance of complex File Shares;
    • Maintenance of supporting process and procedure documentation;
    • Prompt reporting, remediation and prevention of errors;
    • Reconciliation of orphaned identities;
    • Supporting Information Risk Management leadership with compliance/audit tasks and other duties as assigned;
  • Information/Physical Security Administration
    • Open collaboration with (and support of) the Information and Physical Security Teams, Business Continuity as well as third party managed services;
    • Physical Access Administration for all locations globally;
    • Escalation of business disruptions and identification/remediation of root cause;
  • Information/Physical Security Event Monitoring and Incident Response
    • Detection and coordination of response (escalation) of security events, including (but not limited to):
      • Workspace Intrusion and violence (physical)
      • Adverse weather and environmental events
      • Technical failures (power/hardware/connectivity, etc.)
      • Coordination and dispatch of security officers, emergency responders and Authorities
      • Escalation of identified Information Security Events and Incidents
    • Provide situational awareness to Infrastructure Risk Management Teams through monitoring and communication of events identified via:
      • Threat and Intelligence feeds
      • Access Controls, Alarm Systems and CCTV Feeds
      • GSOC Hotline reports 

Qualifications:

  • Verifiable or demonstrated experience in IAM and/or GSOC operations (by reference) preferred;
  • Strong understanding of logical security, user access and identity management principles and best practices;
  • Robust understanding of Physical Security Operations;
  • Verifiable or demonstrated experience in the following:
    • Log parsing and analysis
    • Scripting tasks or creating structured queries/regex searches
    • Troubleshooting and/or securing computer systems and networks
    • Active Directory
    • Varonis
    • SIEM (Splunk preferred)
    • Physical Security and Access Control platforms
  • Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to adjust communication style/content to efficiently engage their specific audience;
  • Robust analytical skills and knowledge of data analysis tools such as MS Excel (e.g. pivot tables, etc.);
  • Programming/Scripting skills are a plus;
  • Understanding of logical security, user access and identity management;
  • Detail oriented and process focused with a strong appreciation of completeness and accuracy;
  • Ability to independently prioritize work and complete assignments with minimal oversight;
  • Team player who is energized by problem solving and finding solutions together to deliver maximum benefit.
